According to some of the latest Jupiter research, most web users prefer to research online and buy offline. The findings question the accuracy of measuring the success of online campaigns purely by direct clickthrough sales. Food for thought for companies all too willing to measure campaign effectiveness in online terms alone.

Recent Forrester research suggests over 1/3 of consumer media time is now being spent online.
The study also polls marketing executives with nearly 70% asserting that online branding campaigns are at least as effective or more effective than offline campaigns.

"Only 6% of shoppers who experienced a problem with a retailer contacted the company, but 31% went on to tell friends, family or colleagues what happened".

Seems like free booze is not enough (read here). Bloggers are now being given free books to read, review and buzz about. Hillstead publishing has announced it plans to donate 250 copies of "Living the Artist’s Life" to blogosphere bookworms. Two thumbs up from here! Interesting to know if or how they plan to measure the effects.
