US army says no to soldier social networking
By Mike DavisonThe US army has decided to stop letting soldiers use certain high profile social networking and file sharing sites like You Tube and MySpace from military networked computers. Previously this was a way of soldiers keeping family and friends up to speed with events in warzones but chiefs say it’s too risky and the information potentially too sensitive. Seems a little stronghanded and is in no fear of stifling voices wanting to be heard. Apparently it’s deemed fine for soldiers to use their own computers.
