China 2.0
By Mike DavisonEmarketer today looks at internet uptake in China and has some really fascinating figs to throw around. The most interesting bit for me is reference to a recent OfCom / Synovate study looking at patterns of Chinese internet consumption which found that;
"broadband users consume user-generated content in appreciably greater percentages than users in the US, Japan and Western Europe. In total, 62% of respondents in China said they had watched or downloaded online user-generated video content in October 2006, compared with 43% in the US (the second-ranked country in the survey) and 26% in Japan (the last-ranked)."
