China 2.0

By Mike Davison

Emarketer today looks at internet uptake in China and has some really fascinating figs to throw around.  The most interesting bit for me is reference to a recent OfCom / Synovate study looking at patterns of Chinese internet consumption which found that;

"broadband users consume user-generated content in appreciably greater percentages than users in the US, Japan and Western Europe. In total, 62% of respondents in China said they had watched or downloaded online user-generated video content in October 2006, compared with 43% in the US (the second-ranked country in the survey) and 26% in Japan (the last-ranked)."
