Girl Geeking with Apple and Eurostar
By Molly FlattA couple of weeks ago the wonderful Jess Greenwood from Contagious Magazine asked me if I wanted to join her in presenting some emerging social media trends and innovations to 80 or so Girl Geek bloggers from Belgium and France in London’s Apple Store. I said Well, if I must.

The girls were brought over by Eurostar for various exclusive events across Regent Street, with any live content they uploaded about their experiences being aggregated on a central Twitter/Flicker/Google Maps mashup (see below). It was a great example of how to get a close-knit social media tribe to create conversation around a variety of brands by tapping into their interests and expertise (i.e. technology, shopping and drinking champagne). The girls were incredibly eclectic and engaging and Jess and I learnt as much from them as we imparted. You can see the Flickr sets and blog posts collected on the Brussels Girl Geek Dinner blog.

My favourite comment was this one about my shirt, as opposed to those about the content of my talk (which, incidentally, centred around how the working habits of Generation Y are about to transform the post-recession world; and why William Morris was a 19thC social media guru). I suspect that makes me more Girl than Geek.
Big respect to Apple, Eurostar, Sister PR and all the girls involved.
