Twitter breaks new frontiers

There are many reasons to talk about Twitter bubbling to the surface of the online news waves day after day. This is by far one of my most favourite yet. I give you Twitter user @astro_mike! He’s only a flipping NASA astronaut.

As a specialist for STS-215 (I have no idea what this means but it’s cool, huh?), Astronaut Mike Massimino is responsible for the first man made tweet from space! His last three tweets are prefixed ‘from orbit’ just in case you were in any doubt – “From orbit: Launch was awesome!!” Justified use of the word ‘awesome’ – another first?
