Ask a simple question…

By Molly Flatt

So far his week, I’ve spent far too much time ignoring my backlog of emails and watching 140 Characters instead. Something I stumbled across on Twitter, it’s a video project that took place during one week in Dublin, recording 140 talking heads - “children, teachers, singers, travellers, nuns, fathers, mothers, dancers, hipsters, grandparents, dreamers, believers, cleaners, creative people & people who are creative with the truth” - answering the same question, and revealing much about their lives, communities and aspirations as a result.

It’s a great reminder that a single, simple question (you’re going to have to watch the clips to work out what it is) can trigger such rich, varied and emotional engaged conversation; sometimes we try too hard to ‘guide’ people’s creativity when a more direct opener gives them total freedom to be themselves. It’s also a reminder that we should always embrace diversity, disagreement and complexity in WOM. It makes for totally compulsive content.

Who’s your favourite? I love no.51.
